lifeID is emerging from stealth mode to give users control over their identities. For the past year, lifeID has been working relentlessly to bring identity into the modern era. The company aims to change the paradigm for identity solutions with the lifeID phone app and a permissionless identity blockchain lifeID will launch.
“We are building the Ethereum for identity,” said lifeID Founder and veteran security expert Chris Boscolo. “lifeID is creating an innovative way for users to authenticate themselves both online and in the real world, while preserving their privacy. With this recent Equifax data breach of 143 million American consumers, it’s clear that the current identity model is broken.”
lifeID has been working with other prominent blockchain-based companies to be the identity layer for their application stack. This will allow for a dynamic and robust ecosystem, while ensuring scalability for lifeID, creating maximum value for users and businesses integrating with these various solutions.
“We are excited for lifeID’s roll out of their identity platform, and how it will integrate with Dragonchain’s ecosystem and tokenized micro-license software, bridging Web 2.0 applications to the blockchain,” says Joe Roets, CEO and founder of Dragonchain Inc. Dragonchain is a Disney incubated blockchain company with recent ICO success.
"I'm pleased to support lifeID in their definition for a standardized identity layer for blockchains," says Ed Eykholt, CEO of RChain Holdings. "Industry adoption across consumer and business use cases relies on having standardized identity protocols."
In addition to integration partnerships, lifeID has been working with pilot customers to bring its application to thousands of users, validating the model and improving the experience before a public product rollout. lifeID will announce more on these partnerships and pilot programs in the coming months.
The new experience of accessing your entire world with just a phone and the lifeID app, is a huge benefit to users. It removes the need for usernames and passwords through single sign-on functionality, in addition to the replacement of cards and key fobs used to access physical things. Moreover, lifeID can be used to replace real world identifiers, such as driver licenses, gym memberships or even diplomas issued by a university.
