Dinklage spent three years in the Texas National Guard Forty-Ninth Armored Division before joining the US Army and the US Airborne.

“After two marriages and three children, I am back to my book. My granddaughter talked me into writing, and after a while I decided I would never finish this. Hence the name ‘I Finish Nothing.’ If it hadn’t been for divine intervention, it would never have been written. At eighty-one, I am pretty proud of what I have done and blessed with divine intervention.” --Robert William Dinklage

In 1979, author Robert William Dinklage’s mother died. His son was then killed by a drunk driver in a hit-and-run. It was the worst year of his life.

He soon lost his job and career. He went through a divorce and gave away his house. In his mid-fifties, he was left with nothing except darkness and an uncertain future. He would, however, find a way to cope with his grief.
