We are extremely pleased to be featured at the SC17 Supercomputing Conference by the Ohio OSC Supercomputing center, Norman Kutemperor, CEO, Scientel IT Corp.

The SC17 super-computing conference displays the most advanced products of the year by all manufacturers, suppliers and centers in the super computing industry. These days, the specialty as anyone would guess is the most powerful solutions for Big data related databases technologies. One of the premier exhibitors at this years conference was the Ohio State OSC Supercomputing center which runs a system that comprises over 23,000 CPU cores. The OSC center recently ran a benchmark of the Scientel Gensonix Super DB which ran 16,800 DB nodes on the OSC system resulting in one of the largest DB runs ever on supercomputer systems for large databases for Big Data. The OSC center featured the Gensonix Super DB system at their display booth.
Scientel's Gensonix Super DB is a very highly scalable NewSQL DB designed to tackle today’s real big data. Optimized to run on supercomputer architectures and HPC systems, Gensonix is capable of scaling to 10’s of 1000’s of database nodes. While, many NoSQL database systems are designed to scale on large server configurations, they are confined to a server node which may be comprised of multiple CPUs as well as multiple cores. It is typical in a server configuration to have a server node comprised of 4 main CPUs each with 8 cores per CPU. In such an environment, many NoSQL DB systems can run one DB node on such a server. Therefore a system comprised of 20 such nodes may be able to run an ordinary NoSQL DB at 20 nodes.
Gensonix on the other hand is the highly scalable massively parallel architecture DB which requires only 1 core per DB node and is considered core enabled. With core enabling, Gensonix can accommodate 32 DB nodes on the stated single server node since such a server node features 32 cores in total. Therefore on such a 20 server node system, Gensonix can run a single DB that can scale to 128 DB nodes. This architecture allowed Scientel to run a single distributed DB on the Ohio State Supercomputer which scaled to 16,800 DB nodes in a 3 hour sustained job run with no errors.
Scaling to large number of nodes is one of the main capabilities required to solve big data. The other 2 critical components according to Scientel are multi-modeling for both structured and unstructured data in distinctly different data stores such as tables and document stores in a single DB as well as a highly procedural language such as NSQL® for multi-stream multi-parallel executions.
About Scientel Information Technology, Inc.
Scientel Information Technology, Inc. is a U.S.-based, international, systems technology company. Scientel also designs/produces highly optimized high end servers, which can be bundled with its "GENSONIX® ENTERPRISE" DBMS software, as a single-source supplier of complete systems for Big Data environments. Scientel also customizes hardware and software for specific applications resulting in higher performance.
Scientel's specialty is advanced NoSQL DBMS design and applications/systems integration for advanced business processes. This includes applications for Big Data, commercial intranets, Supply Chain management, IT consulting, support, etc., along with “beyond mainframe-level” Large Data Warehouse Appliance hardware/systems.
GENSONIX® allows very user-friendly data manipulation capabilities found in standard, SQL-based, database management systems, but it goes beyond. It is truly an "ALL-in-One SQL" -- an “All Data Management System” in the form of an ultra-flexible, NoSQL DBMS of perfectly general capabilities and application potentials. It can also function in concert with mainline SQL systems to efficiently handle both structured and unstructured data as a large data warehouse repository. However, it can handle heavy database loads by itself with the aid of the GENSONIX® NSQL©™ query/procedural language. GENSONIX® supports both telnet as well as http interfaces. GENSONIX® is capable of handling trillions of rows/transactions for billions of customers, which is a huge advantage in “truly Big Data” structured applications.
Business customers can take advantage of Scientel’s capabilities in advanced Business Intelligence and Data Analytics to grow their business by handling Big Data more cost-effectively and with greater insights to remain competitive. Scientific, government, and similar organizations can use these capabilities to efficiently process Big Data, instead of being swamped by it. And, Scientel’s Enterprise Content Management & Search solutions can vastly simplify storage, access, and management of any kind of digitized data for any size organization.
