National Nonprofit, Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix) Breaks Their Record By Distributing 1 Million Tickets in One Calendar Year
PHOENIX (PRWEB) November 21, 2017 -- The national nonprofit Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix) achieved a major milestone of distributing one million tickets and counting to currently serving military community, including the Guard and Reserve, all eras of veterans, family members of those killed in action, military families and VetTixers caregivers.
Event tickets range from a host of sporting events, concerts, performing arts and family activities, all with the purpose of strengthening bonds and giving our nation’s military personnel, veterans and their loved ones a memorable experience to remember for years to come. Currently serving military and veterans are even able to request tickets on behalf of their military caregiver to send those who care for them out to an event with other peers.
Based on Vet Tix’s 2016 Annual Survey findings, 60 percent of veterans report attending two or fewer events per year, but that number doubled after joining Vet Tix. While at events, it’s quite common that VetTixers are seated in the same sections as other VetTixers to establish comradery and help strengthen peer bonds within the military and veteran community. An Army veteran who attended a concert through Vet Tix said, “As a veteran dealing with PTSD, I do not often go out into large crowds. Being seated in a great area with easy access to the exit to get space when needed and being seated with other veterans was very helpful.”
As the holiday season approaches, Giving Tuesday is an incredible opportunity to give back to those who have given so much. Today, more than 650,000 verified veterans and currently serving military have officially registered as VetTixers and can enter lotteries for tickets through the Tickets for Troops program through their website.
“We are proud to state as of October 30, 2017, we’ve distributed 1,018,188 tickets so far this calendar year.” said Mike Focareto, CEO of Vet Tix. “Our stretch goal for the calendar year was to hit that milestone for the first time so we could add more memories for our VetTixers. Thanks to all our donors and VetTixer network, we were able to do exactly that! Our 10th anniversary will be in 2018 and I can tell you this was our vision and hope when we started, but it was just an audacious pipe dream. Now onto 2 million!”
Live Nation has been Vet Tix’s top donor to date with donated tickets valuing more than $4 million. It is because of sponsors and donors like Live Nation that has enabled Vet Tix to serve so many deserving people.
Vet Tix has sent VetTixers to top events in 2017 to include the Final Four NCAA Basketball championship game in Phoenix, Arizona, Hamilton the Musical, a New York Yankees game for Vet Tix’s 3 millionth ticket distributed, U2, Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, NBA, WNBA, NHL, NFL, MLB games and much more.
