ASM International’s Heat Treating Society hosted “Heat Treat 2017” Conference and Exposition in Columbus, OH
MATERIALS PARK, Ohio (PRWEB) November 27, 2017 -- Heat Treat 2017, the biennial conference and expo organized by the ASM Heat Treating Society, took place from October 24-26 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, OH. Co-located with GearExpo 2017, the conference and expo attracted more than 5,000 attendees and featured an exciting mix of new technology, exhibits, technical programming and networking events geared toward the heat treating industry.
The Heat Treat 2017 technical program highlighted the latest research and industry insights from more than 100 industry experts, including special symposiums honoring innovators in heat treating. The exhibit hall showcased products and services from approximately 200 of the top companies and biggest names in the heat treating industry.
Heat Treat 2017 also provided an opportunity for the next generation to discover the world of heat treating. More than 150 middle and high school students from the Columbus area participated in a mini-materials camp, hosted by The ASM Materials Education Foundation. The “This is Heat Treat” student program gave college students free attendance at the event and allowed numerous educational and networking experiences during an emerging professional panel, mixer, and poster competition.
Additional conference highlights comprised of special educational session offerings on a wide range of subjects, including two corporate sponsored courses; a VIP Guided Industrial Tour; and a special “Taste of Columbus” networking event at Columbus’ famed North Market.
Overall, the event was a big success and paved the way for the 2019 Heat Treat Conference and Exposition in Detroit. To find more information on the 2019 conference and exposition, visit: bit.ly/HeatTreat19 or to learn about other ASM International conferences and events, visit: bit.ly/ASMEvents
