Northcentral University Announces Dissertation Completion Pathway
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) November 27, 2017 -- Northcentral University today announced the debut of its new Dissertation Completion Pathway. It’s no secret that many doctoral candidates never complete the final step towards their coveted degrees and, instead, settle for a designation of the dreaded ABD – a post-graduate acronym for “All but Dissertation.” With the Council of Graduate Schools (CGS) reporting an alarming 55% completion rate for doctoral programs, Northcentral University created the DCP to specifically help doctoral students who, due to circumstances beyond their control, departed their previous programs prior to completion and are now seeking opportunities to complete their dissertation and attain their degree.
The Dissertation Completion Pathway was created out of NCU’s strong desire to help each and every student complete their degree programs and reach graduation day.
Northcentral University’s Dissertation Completion Pathway (DCP) is designed for students who:
• Have completed their doctoral coursework, began the dissertation process, but withdrew from the program due to personal or professional circumstances.
• Completed the dissertation coursework, but withdrew from the program due to personal or professional circumstances, and opted for a migrating degree.
The vision for the NCU Dissertation Completion Pathway is to provide students a structured program to help them achieve an advanced professional position or their personal/professional goal to “become a Dr.” The program provides a student-centered, high touch, and structured pathway that recognizes past academic coursework while providing the student with the preparation and guidance to complete a dissertation.
This guided approach, including weekly objectives and milestones, provides students the structure, support and personal attention they need. It also includes innovative learning processes like the DCP Boot Camp where students come together in an intense, focused environment designed to help them take the final steps toward their goals.
“We believe every doctoral candidate should have the chance to earn the right to be called “Doctor,” says Dr. Patricia Henry, Dean of The Graduate School at NCU. “These students have already worked very hard to pursue their dreams and we’re proud to play a part in helping them complete their dissertations and attain their doctoral degrees.”
NCU is well-known for its unique approach for self-starters and independent thinkers who want a premier education with outstanding flexibility. NCU provides students with a personal, one-to-one learning experience – delivered by professors who all hold doctoral degrees. In addition, with no group projects and flexible scheduling, students can pursue degree programs on their schedule.
NCU’s Dissertation Completion Pathway is turning ABD’s into PhD’s.
