Microsoft Azure helps NucleusHealth deliver solutions that allows customers to focus more on their patients and less on managing servers.
SAN DIEGO (PRWEB) November 27, 2017
NucleusHealth®, the cloud based medical image management and teleradiology company today announced Microsoft Azure will power its medical image management solution to help the healthcare industry optimize their interactions with medical imaging exams.
The Nucleus.io solution empowers the industry to take advantage of the cloud to reduce their growing image management costs, enable anytime anywhere internet access to imaging data, and enhance security with no loss of performance or image quality. The solution also provides an excellent means to extract greater value from their data through advanced analytics and machine learning.
“Health systems and companies in the healthcare space increasingly rely on cloud computing to advance digital transformation,” said Claude Hooton, President and Chief Operating Officer, NucleusHealth. “In fact, Microsoft Azure has significantly transformed our fast growing teleradiology business where we manage over one million patient exams annually. Improving patient care and clinician collaboration and reducing operating costs can begin almost immediately by moving medical imaging exams to Azure with Nucleus.io.”
NucleusHealth is leveraging the power of Azure to drive better efficiencies for its own workloads. The company selected Azure for its blob storage needs as well as the cloud backend to run its web-based medical image management platform serving over 2,700 facilities across the U.S. At the core of the platform is patented streaming technology, which provides on-premise diagnostic workstation performance from Azure over the internet to a web-browser. Nucleus.io can be used for image storage, sharing, and for diagnosis from medical images. Developers can also take full advantage of the platform through a robust API management layer to support clinical workflows and build custom web based medical imaging applications.
“Microsoft Azure helps NucleusHealth deliver solutions that allows customers to focus more on their patients and less on managing servers,” said Tad Brockway, General Manager, Microsoft Azure Storage at Microsoft Corp. “The Nucleus.io solution addresses a variety of issues related to the healthcare industry and allows customers to take advantage of the flexibility and enterprise-grade reliability that Azure provides."
Technology licensing opportunities for Nucleus.io include a web-scale Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution. More information will be available throughout RSNA 2017 in Chicago at the company’s exhibit, booth No. 1504, McCormick Place, South Hall A.
