Mindray Introduces Significant New Upgrade for Premium Resona 7 Ultrasound System at Radiology Society of North America Annual Conference

ZONE Sonography® Technology (ZST+) Enables Software Upgrades for CEUS, Shear Wave Elastography and 10 New Transducers

The new upgrade is based on the system’s core ZONE Sonography® Technology (ZST+), which enables software upgrades for new applications such as contrast enhanced ultrasound (CEUS), Sound Touch shear wave elastography and new transducer options.

Mindray, a developer of next generation medical technology, will feature a new upgrade for its premium Resona 7 ultrasound system at the Radiology Society of North America annual conference being held in Chicago November 26 – 30, 2017. The new upgrade is based on the system’s core ZONE Sonography® Technology (ZST+), which enables software upgrades for new applications such as contrast enhanced ultrasound (CEUS), Sound Touch shear wave elastography and 10 new transducer options.

“As part of our commitment to Living Technology and ensuring ongoing state-of-the-art performance, we have been developing upgrades and new technology for our flagship ultrasound system for our clinical partners,” said Glen McLaughlin, PhD, chief product officer, Mindray. “This release also includes multiple new transducers, which will significantly broaden the scope of applications for general imaging, vascular, women’s imaging, and shared service applications.”

Other imaging, software, and calculation enhancements include fetal CNS “Smart Planes,” “Smart Pelvis” and a dedicated pelvic congestion syndrome package. The new transducers include C6-2GU interventional/intraoperative; C11-3U microconvex; P10-4U and P7-3U phased pediatric cardiac; P7-3TU adult transesophageal; L16-4HU; SC6-1U and DE10-3WU (3D). There are also two new CW transducers, CW2S and CW5S, for the support of shared service. The new upgrade is expected to be available to Resona 7 customers early next year.

In addition to the upgrade, Mindray will showcase other Resona 7 system advancements including an innovative imaging capability, HD Scope. HD Scope is an image processing technique that focuses imaging resources within a specified region of interest (ROI), analyzes the received channel data, and applies various filtering and processing algorithms. This results in more optimal spatial and contrast resolution for various tissue types, especially small and complex lesions.
