InventHelp Inventor Develops Improved Surgical Dressing
PITTSBURGH (PRWEB) November 29, 2017 -- “I remove these adhesive surgical drapes after surgery," said an inventor from Terre Haute, Ind. "It is very frustrating and tedious to remove these drapes without dislodging the nerve block catheter. New dressings often have to be applied over the catheters. I want to decrease the risk of a patient having to have another procedure (catheter replacement) done due to this potential."
He created a prototype for the patent-pending B-SECURE to ensure nerve block catheters stay in their intended placement, further protecting the patient from post-operative pain, injury and the side effects of pain medication. This ends the risk of injury for the patient by preventing the need of having another catheter placed and/or the use of added pain-relief drugs and their bad side effects. It also eliminates the need to reapply a new dressing post-operatively. Furthermore, the invention offers peace of mind to the anesthesia provider and scrubbed personnel.
The original design was submitted to the Indianapolis office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
