What if we told you that there was a way to support a worthy cause, help fund research for a global illness, and as an added bonus you were able to wear a beautiful, uplifting new scent? And all the profits went to a non-profit that raises funds for depression research.

Over 20 million adults in the US have depression every year. 350 million suffer from it worldwide. According to the World Health Organization, depression is the number one reason for disability globally. It is astonishing that depression is still misunderstood and under-researched despite its prevalence. Sadly, 50% of those who need medication do not respond to the anti-depressants on the market. There has been no new category of anti-depressant in over 30 years, since the introduction of Prozac in 1985. More research and discovery of new medications and treatments are a priority. That’s where Hope Fragrance comes in.
In order to raise additional funds to accelerate depression research, Audrey Gruss, Founder and Chairman of Hope for Depression Research Foundation (HDRF), I created Hope, the Uplifting Fragrance that launched this Fall in select Saks Fifth Avenue stores and on Saks.com.
A pioneer of depression research since she founded the non-profit in 2006, Gruss has a final goal in mind: to find a cure. With 100% of Hope Fragrance profits going to research, this is a product that enables everyone who buys it to support a major charitable cause.
About Hope for Depression:
The mission of the Hope for Depression Research Foundation (HDRF) is to fund cutting-edge, scientific research into the origins, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of depression and its related mood and other emotional disorders – bipolar disorder, postpartum depression, post-traumatic stress syndrome, anxiety disorder and suicide.
In 2010, HDRF launched its Depression Task Force (DTF) – an outstanding collaboration of seven leading scientists, at the frontiers of brain science, from different research institutions across the U.S. and Canada. These scientists have developed an unprecedented research plan that integrates the most advanced knowledge in genetics, epigenetics, molecular biology, electrophysiology, and brain imaging. To accelerate breakthrough research, they share ongoing results, in real time, at a centralized data bank, the HDRF Data Center.
HDRF was founded in April 2006 by Audrey Gruss in memory of her mother, Hope, who suffered from depression.
100% of profits go directly to depression research.
