Port-Au-Prince, Haiti (PRWEB) November 29, 2017
The Center for Facilitation of Investments in Haiti (CFI), in collaboration with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and Avasant, will be hosting the Haiti Digital Services Platform Launch/BPO Job Fair and Investor Forum on November 29-30, 2017 at the Karibe and Marriot Hotels respectively, in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. The two-day event will witness the launch of the Haiti Digital Services platform, a unique one-of-its-kind platform that brings all the key elements of BPO operations including human resources, physical infrastructure, sector incentives and industry information under a single online platform. The omni-channel platform, conceptualized and developed by Avasant, allows prospective job seekers to register themselves to seek employment. It also delivers a series of online assessments to assess suitability of registrants for various BPO sector roles making it easier for CC/BPO service providers to address skill availability and training issues in turn making investment decision making much easier. The platform will be launched by Dr. Jovenel Moise, President of Haiti.
According to Anupam Govil, Partner, Avasant, “The Haiti Digital Services Platform is a unique platform that bridges the gap between various elements within the BPO ecosystem thereby ensuring that operational bottlenecks are addressed effectively. Such a solution not only allows locations like Haiti to open up significant opportunities to the local population but also provides seamless services to investors and BPO service providers.”
The event is also aimed at educating the global and domestic audience about the potential of the Haitian CC/BPO sector by bringing together senior government representatives, global BPO experts, service providers, investors, job seekers and BPO professionals. Haiti, with its globally unique multilingual skills, nearshore proximity and cost-effective labor pool is establishing itself as the next generation nearshore BPO destination.
The Job Fair event to be held on November 29, 2017 has received over one thousand registrations from aspiring youths who will be invited to learn more about the opportunities in the BPO sector.
The Haiti BPO Investor Forum to be held on November 30, 2017 will focus on sharing with prospective investors business opportunities within the Haitian CC/BPO sector while highlighting the initiatives undertaken for the development of the sector. The forum will also facilitate discussions between prospective BPO investors and representatives from the Government and the Private Sector, and will serve as a platform to address needs and concerns of the investors and explore potential investment/partnership opportunities in the short-medium term in Haiti’s BPO sector.
The Haiti Digital Services program is part of a yearlong project aimed at developing the Haitian BPO ecosystem funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and executed by Avasant.
