Nantucket Data Platform Announces New Executive Director
NANTUCKET, Mass. (PRWEB) November 30, 2017 -- The Nantucket Data Platform, an organization focused on aggregating island data, unifying it with national databases, and providing analytics to the island community to support evidence-based decision making, has announced the selection of Posie Constable as its first Executive Director.
“We are delighted to announce this critical hire almost exactly one year after a simple conversation sparked the big idea to create an invaluable data resource for the island. Since that first conversation the positive momentum behind NDP has surprised all of us. To sustain our growth, it became obvious we needed an innovator and leader to support our initiatives. Posie has a breadth of perspective and experience that is invaluable to NDP specifically, and the island more generally.”
Posie’s resume includes 30 years of innovation. Most recently she has led the business origination and project development efforts at the New York City Energy Efficiency Corporation where she has helped pioneer innovative, energy efficiency and clean energy projects including solar, cogeneration, and natural gas.
“Breaking Energy” highlighted Posie as one of New York’s Top 10 Women in Energy putting her work “at the heart of some of the city’s most results-oriented energy efforts.”
Preceding her role at NYCEEC, Posie spent 28 years at various financial institutions, the most recent of which was as Managing Director, Global Fixed Income Capital Markets at Merrill Lynch, where she oversaw a team of traders, operations folks, and technologists. She is excited to bring the same energy and focus to the NDP - to harness data to inform decision making and solve problems.
“I have been coming to Nantucket seasonally for 36 years and we own a home near Sanford Farm. I’ve been involved in island organizations for years including as a Board Member of Nantucket Community Sailing and as co-Chair of Nantucket Race Week. I’ve been eager to make more contributions to the community and this position is a great fit with my experience in working with innovative technologies to effect real change in communities I care about deeply.”
Advisory Board Chairman Joe Smialowski added, “We look forward to the contributions that Posie will make to the NDP effort. Her experience, knowledge, and leadership skills are a great match for our work. Together with the NDP team, our growing Advisory Board, and our nationally-respected “Thinking Partners,” we will continue to rapidly advance our mission to provide reliable data to the island community.”
The Nantucket Data Platform’s mission is to create a reservoir of reliable data that is continuously updated and readily available to the Nantucket community for the purpose of improving knowledge about Nantucket and inspiring astute decision making.
