Learning & Lipstick Launches December 6
SAN DIEGO (PRWEB) December 04, 2017 -- Learning & Lipstick, a fun, free event for families and teens, will take place Wednesday, December 6 from 3:00pm – 6:30pm at the Katherine Cosmetics flagship store in Flower Hill Promenade. Sponsored by Katherine Cosmetics and Winward Academy, the event benefits Barrio Logan College Institute (BLCI) and its renowned education programs.
In sponsoring the event, Katherine Cosmetics is celebrating the launch of its flagship store. “The first annual Learning & Lipstick event symbolizes the merging of two industries – beauty and education – that typically aren’t seen working together,” shared Annie Finch, Founder and CEO of Katherine Cosmetics. “But what’s exciting about our partnership with Winward Academy is our shared commitment to instilling the same values in youth: confidence, strength and courage.”
Winward Academy – a nationally recognized tutoring platform providing personalized ACT, SAT, and math courses – partners with schools and foundations around the country to provide educational resources to underserved students. Dr. Jennifer Winward, the founder of Winward Academy, will speak at Learning & Lipstick to encourage awareness and discussion of the state of education. “I am honored to share my experiences working with students both locally and nationally,” Dr. Winward said. “And I’m thrilled to partner with Katherine Cosmetics to support the education equity initiatives of Barrio Logan College Institute.”
Event attendees will enjoy light bites, music, makeup applications by Katherine Cosmetics and the opportunity to win prizes with the Winward Academy knowledge trivia wheel.
The event supports the Barrio Logan College Institute’s mission to give all students access to higher education by breaking the cycle of poverty and preparing underserved students to graduate as first generation college students. Both Katherine Cosmetics and Winward Academy will donate 15% of their sales to BLCI. Katherine Cosmetics will donate one makeup palette to BLCI for each sold, and Winward Academy will also match sales with a donation of one entire program for ACT or SAT to BLCI for each one sold.
