Karen has been the director of West Valley Assistance Center, a case manager, and a benefits specialist for low income, at-risk senior citizens. She has also been the director and a counselor for the Tri County Council on Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault, Inc. in Northern Wisconsin, which required her to maintain the shelter house and transitional living facility for victims and their children. She has served on the Wisconsin Counties Association. She has worked as a paralegal and teacher, who taught fourth grade, seventh grade, eighth grade, ESL, and GED courses. Karen Ann McDaniel was the first women in her home county elected as the county supervisor. She served eight years. She has also published a weekly column in her local newspaper on local government for seven years. She is a certified SHIP (State Health Insurance Program) counselor through the Area Agency on Aging. She has also received training as a grief counselor. Karen has been a caregiver for her godmother, two brothers-in-law, and mother who all suffered from Alzheimer’s Disease.
