An inventor from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, has developed the U-SAFE, an automotive safety feature designed to detect loose lug nuts on a wheel. "News stories inspired me to develop my idea. I heard of too many stories of wheels flying off of vehicles and subsequently harming people on the roadway," said the inventor.

The U-SAFE alerts the vehicle operator that a wheel is wobbling due to loose lug nuts. It prevents having the wheel fall off and posing a major safety hazard. This system aids in resolving the problem early so it does not escalate into a major danger. It keeps the car or truck safe and under control by the driver. Ultimately, it will provide peace of mind for safety-conscious motorists.

The original design was submitted to the Toronto office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
