MINNEAPOLIS (PRWEB) December 05, 2017
Fortress Press, a division of 1517 Media of Minneapolis, Minnesota, is excited to announce the release of a brand-new book, "Faith in Action: A Handbook for Activists, Advocates, and Allies". An experimental new resource on faith and social advocacy, "Faith in Action" provides more than one hundred things you can do to make a difference.
This resource includes short, four-page offerings on more than thirty essential topics for would-be activists in today’s world. Each topic has practical suggestions for what you can do to make a difference in your community. But more than a to-do list, this book will broaden and deepen your perspectives on a range of topics, from racial justice to environmental concerns, from LGBTQIA equality to Native people’s rights, from women’s equality to disability rights, from mass incarceration to immigration.
Twelve contributors with varied experience in activism, faith, policy, and social change developed Faith in Action: Marques Armstrong, Sharon Betcher, Bethany Bradley, DeWayne Davis, Christopher Zumski Finke, Sonja Hagander, Jaylani Hussein, Jim Bear Jacobs, Nekima Levy-Pounds, Dee McIntosh, Kellie Rock, and Javen Swanson.
“We at Fortress Press are pleased to announce the release of 'Faith in Action'. It is truly a cutting-edge new resource that we hope starts conversation and action within our communities. It has been a group effort, and we thank each of the contributors for all of their hard work and dedication,” said Will Bergkamp, Vice President and Publisher.
"Faith in Action" will give you the knowledge, tools, and confidence to make a real impact—to step out into the world to be an activist, advocate, and ally. To learn more, order, or join the social conversation, visit http://www.faithinaction.online/.
