"ReInhabiting the Village" Launches its Live Interactive Online Course
(PRWEB) November 30, 2017 -- On January 2, “ReInhabiting the Village” launches its 8-week live interactive online course led by “ReInhabiting the Village: CoCreating our Future” author Jamaica Stevens and editor Keala Young.
The program offers the opportunity to learn about sustainable practices and engage with a global community. As we become increasingly aware of our interconnection on this one shared home called Earth, there is a compelling call to find our common threads in the midst of our differences, and become the cooperative stewards for our collective future.
“The call for Sacred Stewardship is to empower inclusive engagement, meaningful participation in direct action and devotional leadership at personal, interpersonal, and local community levels, while considering our place in the greater web of life. Through a renewal of village ethos, we can integrate intercultural wisdom, intergenerational perspectives and regenerative practices to realign ourselves as a symbiotic and beneficial species in relationship with the greater organism of the Living Earth,” says Jamaica Stevens.
The interactive live course offers practical and inspiring interactive experience working with best practices, tools, perspectives, dialogue, exercises and exploration of essential principles for sacred leadership within your personal lives, your interpersonal connections, our community interdependence and our stewardship of the global village.
The program takes participants through the 12 themes of the book in the following weekly modules: Intro to Modern Village Ethos, Heart of Community/Health & Healing, Art & Culture/Media & Storytelling, Living Economy/Learning & Education, Community Land/Holistic Events & Gatherings, Regional Resilience/Urban Village, Appropriate Tech/Whole Systems Design, and Harvesting the Wisdom for your Committed Next Steps.
The program is a result of the successful community-based project ReInhabiting the Village, which kicked off with its crowdfunding campaign in 2014. The project entails a printed book, interactive eBook, participatory workbook, and web-based resource directory. Created by Jamaica Stevens and Executive Produced by Keyframe-Entertainment, "ReInhabiting the Village: CoCreating our Future" is a 352-page graphically rich, softcover book showcasing the work of 12 Visionary Artists and over 60 Contributing Authors. The book features "Voices from the Village" sharing their experience, best practices, strategies and resources to empower communities through practical wisdom and inspiring perspectives. The book offers a roadmap and blueprint for building a legacy for our future through the shared development of social technology tools, innovative templates, models, permaculture guidelines and resources that are useful to communities everywhere. In the spirit of Barbara Marx Hubbard’s wheel of co-creation, featured authors include pioneer Coyote Alberto Ruz Buenfil, David Sugalski aka The Polish Ambassador, and includes a sample article by Charles Eisenstein.
The project has since secured a paperback distribution partnership with Robert D. Reed Publishers, as well as garnered worldwide attention; with features and presentations at global events like Oregon Eclipse Festival, Permaculture Convergence, Portugal’s BOOM Festival, Australia’s ReGrowth Festival, Rainbow Serpent Festival, and Earth Frequency Festival, to name a few.
Most recently, the project was featured in Conscious Community Magazine, and the book is now also used in a US university, in one of the top 10 Capstone Programs in the country.
The course begins January 2, 2018 and will run 8 weeks, ending on February 20, 2018. Ticket prices go up on December 12th, and registration ends December 21st. Group discounts and scholarships are available.
