InventHelp Inventor Develops Roofing Screw Protector
PITTSBURGH (PRWEB) December 03, 2017 -- An inventor from Johnstown, Pa., has invented the patent-pending SNAP CAP IT, a device that is installed over the head of a roofing screw, protecting it from the elements. "I wanted to install my own metal roof, but was worried about leaks," said the inventor. "With the amount of screws used to install a roof, I was concerned that even just one screw installed improperly would cause costly damage." SNAP CAP It protects the head of a roofing screw, preventing it from corrosion.
Additionally, this invention minimizes the chance of a roof leak, potentially saving the homeowner money from costly damage. It would appeal to homeowners, roofing contractors and DIY enthusiasts. There is an automotive-grade adhesive on the bottom that creates a secondary waterproof seal. The cap also protects the rubber washer under the screw from deterioration caused by weather and UV light. The invention can come in different colors to match or offset the color of the roof.
The original design was submitted to the Pittsburgh office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
