People’s Trust Insurance Teams up with The Broward Sheriff’s Office to Donate Toys to Women In Distress
DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. (PRWEB) December 14, 2017 -- People’s Trust Insurance (PTI) is in its 7th year of collecting toys during the holiday season to donate to children. Last year the company’s collection efforts gathered more than 300 toys, the most it has ever collected, and this year’s drive has topped that figure.
“We are proud that this year we were able to join forces with the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) and Women in Distress Broward County to help kids have a joyous holiday season,” said George Schaeffer, the company’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “Helping our neighbors in the community and children is what the holidays are really all about.”
Women in Distress is a nationally accredited domestic violence center that provides safe shelter, crisis intervention resources, and raises community awareness through intervention, education, and advocacy. This is not the first time People’s Trust has partnered with Women in Distress; they previously donated hundreds of pillows and children’s pillow covers called Cuddle Covers. While final donations have not yet been fully counted, Schaeffer said the total has already been higher than last year. Toys collected will be donated to children by the Broward Sheriff’s Office to children at the Women in Distress shelter.
