Women In Trucking Association Announces Continued Partnership with Expediter Services
PLOVER, Wis. (PRWEB) December 04, 2017 -- The Women In Trucking Association (WIT) announced today that Expediter Services has renewed its Gold Level Partnership to support the nonprofit organization’s efforts to advance gender diversity in the transportation industry.
Since 2007, WIT has been committed to encouraging women to consider careers in the trucking industry, addressing obstacles that might keep them from succeeding, and celebrating the success of its members. WIT’s annual Accelerate! Conference and Exhibition, a new “Women In Trucking” patch for Girl Scouts, and a best practice guide on how to attract female drivers are just a few examples of recent initiatives that are helping the organization achieve its mission.
For the last year, Expediter Services has supported WIT at the Gold Level. In addition to providing financial support, the company actively participates in the association. Early November, WIT and Expediter Services announced a program aimed at developing 150 women-owned businesses over the next 12 months. As well as Jason Williams, co-founder and president, serves on WIT’s board of directors.
“Expediter Services is excited to be a part of the conversation that WIT is driving throughout the trucking industry,” said Williams. “We truly believe that there are real tangible goals that can be met by working with Ellen and the people she has brought together to support WIT as a whole.”
“The Women In Trucking Association has made remarkable strides over the past decade,” said Ellen Voie, WIT president and CEO. “We’re grateful for the support from business leaders like Expediter Services. It’s with partnerships like these that we can continue to spark more conversations, draw attention to key issues, showcase success stories, and ultimately elevate the issue of gender diversity in transportation.”
