Freedom Healthworks Announces Olp Family Medicine Opens as Carmel’s First Direct Primary Care Practice
INDIANAPOLIS (PRWEB) December 04, 2017 -- For the first time, a new healthcare option is now available in Carmel, Indiana. Olp Family Medicine opened its doors this December and is now seeing patients daily. Led by Dr. Ashlie Olp, the practice follows the Direct Primary Care (DPC) model, allowing patients to receive the healthcare and attention they need when they need it and how they need it, at an affordable, flat-fee monthly cost.
After more than a decade working with Hoosier Family Health, Dr. Olp decided to open Olp Family Medicine in Carmel, after personally enduring and persevering through a string of health difficulties. Her solo practice is a product of her desire to provide better care for patients and the realization that the red tape from insurance and corporate rules patients and physicians are faced with hurt both parties.
“I know what it’s like to be a patient and feel like you have no voice. The system needs to change: physicians must be an advocate for their patients, and now I can be their partner in medicine though the Direct Primary Care Model,” said Dr. Olp, an Indiana-born, Purdue and Indiana University-educated primary care physician. “Seeing you anytime you want and being available when you need me at an affordable, fair, monthly price — This is exactly how primary care should be administered.”
Dr. Olp’s expertise builds from her primary care experience, and her focus on women’s health and family medicine. As a wife and mother of two, she understands what women and families go through to stay healthy. Her practice includes a focus on fitness, as she was the first female to win the Carmel Marathon and has participated in ten other marathons around the Country.
“We believe Dr. Olp’s personal mission illustrates the need for DPC physicians and the expansion of options for patients,” says Adam Habig, co-founder and president of Freedom Healthworks. “We believe that people can live their best life when they are healthy, less stressed, and have someone to depend upon. Dr. Olp is the doctor that wants to be there to help patients achieve that level of happiness.”
Olp Family Medicine’s opening and launch was aided by Freedom Healthworks, an organization empowering physicians to open their dream, DPC practice, while enabling patients to choose a physician that best suits their needs for a flat price of $50 to $150 per month, depending on the physician. As a result, under the DPC model patients reserve their insurance for catastrophic events like broken bones and hospitalizations. Physicians practicing DPC see their patients on time, spend more time with them (between 45 minutes to an hour) during each in-office visit, and are also quickly accessible to the patient by text, phone, email and digital apps, as well as same day or next day in-office visits.
Dr. Ashlie Olp's office is located at 221 N. Rangeline Road in Carmel, Indiana, and is accepting new patients.
ABOUT FREEDOM HEALTHWORKS Freedom Healthworks, based in Indianapolis, propels the launch, growth and operation of independent, Direct Primary Care (DPC) practices, while also connecting patients to the best DPC practice for their needs. By liberating physicians to serve patients instead of insurance companies, Freedom Healthworks seeks to empower patients to purchase excellent, affordable medical care from private physicians they know and trust. The business was founded by Adam Habig, Christopher Habig and Meghan Habig Johnston, three adult siblings whose physician parents were on the brink of burnout but wanted to offer patients the best healthcare possible. Freedom Healthworks’s initiatives under the DPC model allow patients to receive unlimited health care from a physician of their choosing, while paying a flat rate. Freedom Healthworks’s DPC physicians provide a higher level of care while practicing how they were trained. These physicians also maintain a healthy work-life balance and do not suffer from the burnout that plagues the majority of the medical community.
