TrainOurTroops Appoints Glenn Banton to Veteran Advisory Board
AUSTIN, Texas (PRWEB) December 06, 2017 -- TrainOurTroops, a veteran nonprofit organization that provides U.S. veterans, and their spouses, with advanced online training and certification solutions to give them a competitive advantage in the civilian marketplace, today announced the appointment of Glenn Banton, Executive Director of Operation Supply Drop (OSD) and member of the Forbes Nonprofit Council, to its Veteran Advisory Board, effective immediately.
"We have worked strategically and tactically on many veteran causes together, and it just made sense to fully integrate Mr. Banton into all that we’ve been offering, while at the same time, leveraging his veteran nonprofit experience and business-sense into some of the major initiatives we have planned,” stated Glen Brynteson, President at TrainOurTroops. “We welcome his dedication and advocating on behalf of veterans and their spouses. Glenn will make a great addition to our team as we begin rolling out additional course training platforms to meet the demands of training and certifying veterans and their spouses on a national and international scale.”
Our country asks a lot of our veterans. They serve our country in some of the most dangerous environments and difficult situations faced by any American. Yet having endured those experiences, too many veterans returning to the civilian marketplace find themselves in work that barely pays enough to live on; where they are typically underemployed in positions that don’t satisfy their career goals. Add to that, many of the jobs targeted to veterans are low-skilled and therefore low-paying, which sets up veterans for poverty and struggle rather than for success.
TrainOurTroops and OSD are changing that narrative.
“Operation Supply Drop has critical veteran community and outreach programs that can be integrated with the online training and certification focus provided by TrainOurTroops. Together we can better scale our veteran and spousal impact projects and lift the entire veteran family unit. We want them in higher-paying positions and careers that they find rewarding and fulfilling, in addition to being part of a veteran community and support system,” stated Glenn Banton.
Scott Schneider, Vice President of TrainOurTroops, stated, “We really look forward to Glenn joining our Advisory Board and bringing additional ideas and insights to the group. We want veterans and their spouses to have access to critical skills and templates in order to be successful, whether in an existing career or wanting to start a brand new one. I know OSD has that same level of commitment to veterans, so none of us were shocked when Glen and Glenn gravitated towards each other. We knew something big would come out of it. We’re excited.”
TrainOurTroops has various online training programs, which currently includes six different roadmaps that can be followed for certification and is aligning with organizations, both large and small, to ignite the careers of veterans and their spouses to obtain the skillsets for higher-paying positions which enable a stronger veteran family unit. Courses can be taken by a veteran and their spouse to augment their existing job and career, or they can leverage all of the templates and guides provided by each course to launch a brand new career in a new field.
