Influence Health Doubles Down on its Consumer Experience Platform

Influence Health, the healthcare industry’s leading consumer experience solution provider, today announced that it is divesting its complementary solutions, Empower and Connect, to continue the company’s strategic focus on the rapid growth of its Consumer Experience Platform. The company has entered into definitive agreements with both Madison, Wis.-based Symphony Corporation, which will acquire the Empower patient portal business, and Alpharetta, Ga.-based Aptean, which will acquire the Connect clinical portal business. Both acquirers will retain associated Influence Health employees. Financial terms of the deals will not be disclosed.

The transition to a consumer-centric business model is the biggest opportunity in healthcare today. Changes in the way consumers are making healthcare decisions and a sharper focus on value mean the marketplace is shifting quickly for everyone. Non-healthcare organizations have raised the bar when it comes to creating and delivering world-class consumer experiences, and consumers now expect their interactions with providers to be equally connected, seamless and personalized. As a result, according to Gartner, marketing executives are expected to invest just as much, or more, in technology than their CIO counterparts by the end of 2017.

In alignment, in late 2016 Influence Health debuted its Consumer Experience Platform (CXP), which now includes a powerful content management system, a multi-channel digital marketing system, and a data-rich customer relationship management database. The CXP is used by leading providers from coast-to-coast, such as Illinois-based Presence Health and Missouri-based Freeman Health System.
