Sylvester Foundation to be Honored with HomeSafe Hero Award
LAKE WORTH, Fla. (PRWEB) December 05, 2017 -- Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and the Harcourt M. and Virginia W. Sylvester Foundation will present the next edition of the unique and high-energy rock-and-roll themed charity event – The Classic Rock & Roll Party – on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018 at 6 p.m. This fundraiser benefits HomeSafe, a South Florida nonprofit organization dedicated to providing hope and healing for victims of child abuse and domestic violence.
Hard Rock Live, Hollywood’s premiere live music venue, will be rocking with 2016 Rock and Rock Hall of Fame inductees Cheap Trick, known for their pioneering brand of pop rock ‘n’ roll. Their hits include “I Want You to Want Me,” “Surrender,” “Dream Police,” and the worldwide No. 1 hit single, “The Flame.” The event will be hosted by Nicko McBrain of Iron Maiden, who is a longtime friend of HomeSafe.
“There’s a tremendous amount of excitement building for the 2018 Classic Rock & Roll Party, our signature fundraiser,” said Matt Ladika, CEO of HomeSafe. “This event, headlined by a dynamic, fun-loving band and an equally enthusiastic host, will provide an unforgettable night of entertainment for our guests and sponsors, whose support is essential to transforming the lives of the children and families we serve.”
During the evening, the Harcourt M. and Virginia W. Sylvester Foundation will be presented with the HomeSafe Hero Award for its longtime generous support of the organization. Established in 1980 by the late Harcourt M. Sylvester Jr., the Foundation is a partner with numerous healthcare and human services agencies in South Florida and was the lead donor enabling HomeSafe to open its Sylvester Family Campus in West Palm Beach in 2006.
In addition, attendees will have the chance to bid on an array of impressive silent auction items and will enjoy an energetic and rocking all-star jam session featuring McBrain and other special guests.
“I’m looking forward to a fun night of fundraising for an organization that has been near and dear to my heart for many years,” McBrain said. “HomeSafe is dedicated to looking out for children who have suffered unspeakable trauma and providing caring adults to nurture them and give them hope for a better future.”
In addition to the presenting sponsors, generous support has been provided by major sponsors Paradise Bank, Republic National Distributing Company, MorseLife Health System, Verdex Construction, South Florida Business & Wealth, Lifestyle Media Group, Jaguar Fort Lauderdale, Steven E. Bernstein Family Foundation, Schmidt Family Foundation, Stoops Family Foundation, and Bob Sheetz and Debbie Lindstrom.
Event committee members include Matt Barnes, Cherie Copenhaver, Linda Davidson, Dr. Laurie Emery, Michelle Esposito, Lawrence Gonnello, Denise Groo, Rex Kirby, Nicko McBrain, Steve Nudelberg, Val Perez, Sheryl Simon, Kelly Smallridge, Aggie Stoops, and Rob Vargas.
