NEW YORK (PRWEB) December 07, 2017
Healthify, Inc. ("Healthify") and Purple Binder, Inc. ("Purple Binder"), providers of technology and services for community health, announced the completion of a transaction for Purple Binder to join Healthify. This event will create the largest network of social determinants of health (SDoH) providers and care coordinators, covering over 7.5 million Medicare and Medicaid patients, in the US.
Healthify was founded in 2013 by community health workers who witnessed, first hand, how closely poor health outcomes and the increasing cost of care were tied to unmet social needs such as food insecurity and affordable housing. Healthify sought to offer a better way for healthcare organizations to coordinate around social services and connect their beneficiaries with the services they needed to improve the quality of care and reduce healthcare costs.
Today, Healthify helps payers and providers manage the unaddressed social needs of their most vulnerable populations. The company offers a web-based platform that supports a broad spectrum of activities within care coordination; including identifying SDOH concerns, finding community resources and services, tracking social needs, and coordinating referrals. The addition of Purple Binder to the Healthify team will enable Healthify to extend its services to a larger population of people in need.
“We’re thrilled to welcome the Purple Binder team and their partners to Healthify as we continue to develop and deliver innovative SDOH solutions,” said Manik Bhat, co-founder and CEO of Healthify. “The inclusion of Purple Binder will enhance our reach and position as a valued partner for healthcare organizations throughout the nation.”
For over half a decade, Purple Binder has worked with health systems and government agencies across Chicago and California to connect patients with the community services they need to stay healthy. A trail-blazer in the field, Purple Binder was the first SDOH platform to bridge the technology gap between healthcare and community settings and the first to adopt the Open Referral standard for sharing community service data. Merging with Healthify continues Purple Binder's legacy of innovation through collaboration.
“This is a great opportunity for Purple Binder to make a bigger impact by uniting with a company that is mission-aligned. I'm excited about what we'll be able to offer our partners with our combined expertise,” said Joseph Flesh, co-founder and CEO of Purple Binder. “Healthify shares our belief that healthcare only works if it's not hindered by patients' needs outside the clinic. We are proud to become a part of this industry-leading company as we focus on leading a seamless transition for our partners and their patients.”
Healthify recently raised a Series A round led by Blue Cross Blue Shield Venture partners and will continue on their growth path with the merging of the Purple Binder client base and team.
Powered by a mission to build a world where no one’s health is hindered by their need, Healthify delivers a leading solution that empowers organizations to find community services for their patients, track social needs across their population, and coordinate care with community-based services. As a partner to health plans, social service agencies, and provider networks working with Medicaid and Medicare members, Healthify enables integrated care to fulfill the promise of a value-based healthcare system and healthy communities.
