Several years back we decided to do more around the holidays to help others in the local area. Rather than buying gifts for each other, we now opt to put the money toward giving back to our community.
WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. (PRWEB) December 18, 2017
Counsel Financial announced today the recipients of its holiday-season giving campaign. Through the generosity of employees and a company match for all funds raised, the company has chosen to help support an employee’s extended family undergoing extensive medical treatment and associated hardship. Collectively, the company elected to offer support to one of their own and forego the giving of gifts amongst coworkers again this season.
Chief Operating Officer, Megan Payne, stated, “Several years back we decided to do more around the holidays to help others in the local area. Rather than buying gifts for each other, we now opt to put the money toward giving back to our community.”
In addition to monetary donations, the team at Counsel Financial pulled together to help supply much-needed clothing and toys to the Silver Creek Food Pantry. The Silver Creek Food Pantry provides emergency food to the working poor population in Silver Creek, New York and the surrounding communities. Winter coats and warm apparel are given out to the residents served by the organization, and parents are able to select donated toys to gift to their children for the holidays.
Counsel Financial is committed to giving back to the community and fully supports the spirit of volunteerism. Throughout the year, the company supports numerous organizations including Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Camp Good Days, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and many others. Each summer, the company also hosts a charitable benefit in conjunction with the Mikey's Way Foundation, which provides electronics and internet-ready devices to children undergoing cancer treatment. This year’s event will take place on August 2, 2018 at Buffalo Riverworks.
