Hinnen, a husband, father, grandfather, and physician who has enjoyed writing poetry since he was a teenager.

Robert shares, “I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a couple of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few friends, they encouraged me to place them in book form. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak on missions at our church, I approached Barb (Virtue) Townsend about the possibility of using her photography with my poetry in a book, the proceeds from which would be donated to Share. I wanted to include scripture verses in the book, because most of the poems I had written were inspired by reading God’s Word. Barb thought it was a great idea and sent me approximately 200 photos from which to choose. My son, Ryan, and I worked on the format for another year, with additional poems, scripture verses and photos being added. We were sitting in front of the computer this Spring finalizing the work on the book and my grandchildren were watching cartoons on TV, when there appeared a commercial for Christian Faith Plublishing. That was not a coincidence, but an answer to prayer. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified, through the book itself and through the monies raised for Share International, Inc.”
