“Bringing Me Back to Him”: an impactful story on how fulfillment and true joy are found after surrendering one’s life to the Lord. “Bringing Me Back to Him” is the creation of published author, Heidi Hiam, a Christian whose top priority is to help others know Christ.
Heidi shares, “More times than what I am able to count have I been told that I could never do this and that. I was told that I am stupid and don’t even try for college because I would never make it. Those were constant remarks that I would get almost on a daily basis.
Listening to this on a daily basis makes a person believe that is the truth. That is how I thought of myself for a long time. I started to believe that I was stupid, that I would never amount to anything, and that I was not good enough. Words do hurt, maybe not at the time, but they catch up to you after a while.
Because of the words, it made me the person that I had become back then. If I am useless, then who cares what I do? I didn’t care about the names given to me and what was done to me. I deserved every name given because I decided that since I was accepted anywhere I would just give people what they wanted just for the attention that I wanted or needed at the time.”
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Heidi Hiam’s new book reveals how family members can either produce an emotionally and spiritually healthy or a self-depreciating individual in society by their actions, decisions, treatment, and words, toward him or her.
The ups and downs of Hiam as a struggling Christian are also encountered by those who have come from abusive families. This book is written to show readers that God is a loving Father who cares for the brokenhearted.
