E2D Changes Lives and Gives Back to the Community One Laptop at a Time Via Computer Surplus Fundraiser
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (PRWEB) December 12, 2017 -- E2D, “Eliminate the Digital Divide,” will be hosting a surplus sale fundraiser event on Saturday, December 30, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at its headquarters, 18605 Northline Drive, Cornelius, NC. At the fundraiser, E2D will be selling different types of refurbished laptops, mainly Lenovo and HP, at bargain prices to raise money that will go back into the non-profit so that it can continue to expand and scale its computer refurbisher labs.
Funds raised will help E2D open more labs for more students to work at so that E2D can distribute more laptops to economically disadvantaged families in the Charlotte area. “This is similar to a yard sale. People can show up and buy the laptops,” said Ashley Robbins of E2D. “The price range is $50 to $400, and there isn’t any registration required.”
The mission of E2D is to ensure that all students have affordable access to essential at-home technology and digital literacy training to support academic success and prepare students for college, careers, and beyond. Businesses and organizations that have decommissioned computer technology that can be re-purposed for student use can contact [email protected].
