Evolve Camarillo Offers Emergency Mental Health Services in the Absence of Vista Del Mar Hospital

Due to the damage to Vista Del Mar Hospital in last week’s fire, Evolve Camarillo opens its doors to help the community with immediate mental health needs, including support groups and assessment for those in emotional crisis or distress.

Evolve Camarillo is opening its doors to help fill the void in mental health services created by the tragic loss of Vista Del Mar Hospital.

Evolve is committed to Ventura County and all the towns and villages that make this community great. To help friends and neighbors through the aftermath of last week’s devastating fire, Evolve Camarillo will open its doors Monday, December 11th to fill the void in mental health services created by the temporary closure of the Vista Del Mar Hospital that was damaged by the fire. Located at 799-B Camarillo Springs Road, Evolve Camarillo offers the following services effective immediately:

Emergency Mental Health Triage Center: Monday – Thursday, 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Fridays, 11:00 am – 4:00 pm. This will include no cost walk-in assessments for teens in acute mental health crisis, including referrals and recommendations for Hospitalization, Residential Treatment, Partial Hospitalization, Outpatient Programs, and referrals to local individual therapists.

Open support night for those who need support processing grief and loss. Held Tuesday nights from 5:30 -6:30 pm. Evolve Camarillo Program Director Jonathan Pappas, LMFT will supervise all mental health assessments, referrals and emergency support programs.

We’re here to offer our help as mental health professionals, friends, and neighbors,” says Director Pappas. “We’re active community members and recognize that with the temporary loss of Vista Del Mar Hospital, Ventura County residents face a clear and present need for additional mental health services, support, and resources. We’re committed to acting as a key resource for as long as it takes the community to get back on its feet and return to normal.”

Evolve Camarillo is ideally situated to serve the Ventura County community in the wake of this destructive fire. The state-of-the-art facility stands ready to provide a safe space for those with acute mental health needs. The professional staff has the experience necessary to help Ventura residents process emotions directly stemming from the fire during the Tuesday evening support group, or offer no cost assessment and referrals in lieu of the mental health services temporarily not available at the Vista Del Mar Hospital.
