Texas Senior Care Company Gives Seniors the Gift of Compassion This Year
NORTH HOUSTON, Texas (PRWEB) December 13, 2017 -- Amada Senior Care North Houston is taking the initiative to reduce senior loneliness by connecting seniors in need of companionship to senior volunteers who are more mobile.
Isolation is a common concern among seniors, especially during the winter. As temperatures drop, friends, families, and neighbors have difficulty spending time with each other. As a result, many seniors, especially those with limited mobility, are left feeling lonely and isolated.
With the holidays in full swing, Troy and Amy Tice, owners of Amada Senior Care North Houston, recognized this difficulty faced by many seniors in their community. In an effort to help, they decided to take the initiative to connect seniors in the North Houston area who would like to volunteer with seniors who are in need of a companion. “By spending an hour or two with a fellow senior, you can make a huge difference in their quality of life. This is our community and it is our duty to enhance the quality of life for our seniors.” says Troy. Giving back can not only benefit the person in need, but volunteerism has also been shown to have a positive effect on the volunteer as well.
As a thank you to the volunteers, Amada Senior Care North Houston will be giving away a select amount of gas cards to cover their travel expenses. “Many seniors want family and friends to visit them, but can’t afford the trip,” Troy added, “we'd like to extend the opportunity to them as well.”
If you are a senior in need of a companion, an older adult who would like to volunteer your time, or someone who needs help getting to your family, please feel free to contact Amada North Houston at 832-209-8844.
