Justin Gatlin is the 2017 100m World Champion and with that championship comes the title of “Fastest Man in the World”. That’s an amazing accomplishment and it didn’t just happen by accident. This title is the result of years of perfecting techniques, grueling training, amazing determination and looking for any possible advantage available. When an athlete that has achieved so much opens up about something that has greatly benefited him, it’s time to take notes.
“Rekortan SmarTrack has exposed my technical flaws both big and small, allowing me to customize my training workouts making me a complete athlete – mind and body,” said Justin Gatlin. “Rekortan has enabled me to understand how sprinting and speed meets science with the most advanced timing system on the market.”
Justin’s hard work and attention to his technique were on full display in London earlier this year as he bested Usain Bolt to win the 2017 100m World Championship. By winning this race, Gatlin will be guaranteed to hold the distinction as the “Fastest Man in the World” until at least 2019 because 2018 is the only year in the Olympic cycle without a global championship. World Championships are held in odd years.
“We are proud and humbled to have played a part in Justin Gatlin’s World Championship,” said Gary Wilson, Executive VP Rekortan International. “We appreciate Justin’s acknowledgement of our dedication to help propel runners with the latest technology and to provide the analytics and tools they need to push their performance to the next level. We are honored to have him on the Rekortan team!”
Rekortan SmarTrack systems provide effortless and precise data logging thanks to their built-in time recording systems. Measurement systems are built into the track using magnetic gates. The measurement data is recorded automatically by a fabric based measurement sensor attached to the athletes. Data, such as running time, distance, step frequency, step quantity, step length, speed, jumping, and tapping is documented in a training log. Pre-drafted training plans make it easy to compare and analyze your training level, identify performance reserves, and improve overall performance. SmarTrack provides athletes and coaches with the perfect solution for increasing effectiveness during training and prevents strain and injury from too much training.
Designed for the current day athlete, the Rekortan track system is a diverse, world class series of polyurethane running tracks that are unmatched in quality and performance. The Rekortan debut in 1969 revolutionized the track world with quality and innovation, forever crowning our systems as “the fast tracks”. Four decades have passed and the Rekortan name continues a tradition of excellence, representing the most technologically advanced running surfaces in the world. As the flagship running track brand of the sports surfacing giant SportGroup, Rekortan has helped the SportGroup earn more Class 1 and Class 2 IAAF certifications than any competitor across the globe.
