Linda L. D’Onofrio, a tax shareholder with global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, has received a Freda Johnson Trailblazer Award from The Bond Buyer.

Linda L. D’Onofrio, a tax shareholder with global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, has received a Freda Johnson Trailblazer Award from The Bond Buyer. D’Onofrio was the only attorney to be recognized with this award honoring women in the public finance industry. The award was presented at the publication’s Deal of the Year Awards event on Dec. 6 in New York City.

The award honors leading women in the public finance industry who “promote the participation and professional growth of women generally throughout the public finance industry” and “demonstrate the highest levels of professionalism and integrity,” according to the publication.

D’Onofrio, resident in the law firm’s New York office, focuses her practice on the tax law relating to public and project finance, and taxable and tax-exempt financial instruments, including derivative products. She is experienced in the tax analysis and structuring of all types of municipal bond transactions, including all categories of private activity and governmental bonds, as well as current and advance refundings.

A Georgetown University Law Center J.D. cum laude graduate and a New York University School of Law L.L.M. recipient, D’Onofrio is consistently recognized for her legal accomplishments. She has been listed in the 2018 Best Lawyers in America, Public Finance Law, and has held leadership positions in various organizations, including Treasurer of the National Association of Bond Lawyers, Chair of the Tax-Exempt Bond Committees of the Tax Sections of both the American Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association, Fellow of the American College of Bond Counsel, and former Trustee of the Citizens Budget Committee. She currently serves as Secretary of Northeast Women in Public Finance.
