Arlington South Lions Club, AFAC Partner to Provide Families with Holiday Cheer
(PRWEB) December 15, 2017 -- The Arlington South Lions Club and the Arlington Food Assistance Center are partnering to help 100 families celebrate the holiday season. AFAC will be distributing coupons that can be redeemed for a free Christmas tree at the South Arlington Lions Club Christmas Tree Sales lot. The two organizations plan on making this an annual event, bringing normalcy to local families in need during the holidays.
The Arlington South Lions Club hosts an annual Christmas Tree Sale fundraiser to support the important goal of providing vision and hearing screenings to all children in Arlington ages 6 months to 6 years old. To support the club in its mission this holiday season, please visit the lot at the American Legion Post 139 located at 3445 Washington Blvd., Arlington, VA 22201 to purchase a Christmas tree or make a donation!
The Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) is an independent, community-based non-profit food pantry that provides dignified access to nutrition supplemental groceries to all our Arlington neighbors in need. Over 2,200 families are coming to AFAC each week at eighteen distribution sites throughout Arlington County to access fresh and healthy supplemental groceries, freeing up tightly stretched funds for child and health care, rent, and other financial demands.
