TechGenies is poised for transformative growth with the addition of software development services sales and marketing leader, Robert Gelinas

TechGenies, a leading global provider of onshore, offshore, and near-shore software development, consulting, and IT services, announced today the newest member of its executive management team, Robert Gelinas, serving as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO).

Mr. Gelinas has been working exclusively with global software development firms for the last ten years. In 2008, he was recruited as VP of Sales, Marketing, and US Country Manager for a large offshore firm based in Ukraine. In 2010, he was recruited by a venture capital firm in Kiev, UA to lead a new venture-backed startup in the US, which he grew from nothing to multi-million dollars in revenue and cash-flow positive in only two years. This company was subsequently successfully merged/acquired in 2012. In that same year Mr. Gelinas co-founded yet another software development services firm taking on a major four-year, multi-team legacy software migration project (Client-Server to SaaS/ETL) for a leading information services company in Texas serving the energy sector.

In such a crowded industry, Mr. Gelinas was asked how he found repeated success against such formidable competition. His answer: “The key is to make a successful customer experience the top priority, which is so much more than just writing code. Many IT organizations would like to develop all the software they need in-house, but for one reason or another, simply can’t afford it, or lack critical skill sets. They believe in the 3rd party value proposition of saving money by using external expertise, but often they are sadly disappointed when issues such as unusually high vendor turnover of resources, language and cultural barriers, time zone differences, and more, don’t yield the results they were hoping for, nor any savings, if not cost overruns.”

He went on to explain, “Working with remote development resources doesn’t have to be a nightmare. It can work. I know how to make it work. It starts with establishing a relationship of trust between a client and their remote teams, and implementing critical communications processes. Those teams then quickly come to see themselves as an integral part of the client’s business. They take personal ownership and pride in making their clients successful.”
