Alzheimer’s Family Center Releases the First Three E-books in its New Series, A Practical Guide for Family Caregivers
(PRWEB) December 16, 2017 -- Alzheimer’s Family Center (AFC) has released the first three volumes of its new series of caregiver e-books, collectively entitled A Practical Guide for Family Caregivers. The just-released volumes are available on the AFC website at AFSCenter.org and can be downloaded free of charge. The series was made possible by the generous support of the Arthur N. Rupe Foundation.
Planned as a 10-book series, A Practical Guide for Family Caregivers explores different topics related to Alzheimer’s and memory loss ranging from getting a diagnosis to managing caregiver stress. The book series includes input from AFC’s staff of nurses, caregivers, and clinicians.
The first three volumes released are:
Assembling a Team for Your Journey – Provides information on gathering the right team of resources that every dementia caregiver needs and where to start looking.
Managing Behaviors - Discusses the typical and sometimes challenging behaviors that people with Alzheimer’s exhibit and learning the skills to successfully manage them.
How to Get a Diagnosis and What to do Next – Provides information on how to advocate for the health of yourself and your loved one, and the steps to take for diagnosis and treatment planning.
