The ManBits Podcast Goes Global on iTunes to Raise Awareness of Men’s Mind Health
(PRWEB) December 19, 2017 -- Approximately 70% of all suicides are carried out by men. This highlights a huge social challenge to reach those in need of guidance, counseling, and support.
Paul Averill, the host of The ManBits podcast (https://themanbits.com), aspires to show listeners that there are platforms of support out there to connect people and communities who may be on a similar journey of adversity, and to guide the listener’s mindset to demonstrate and promote positive mind health.
Aligning with the final day of Movember --an annual event that raises awareness of men's mental health issues, Paul kicked off his launch on 30th November 2017 interviewing well respected TV personality Mark Aiston, a former sports commentator who generously shares his challenging journey of depression giving some real insight in how to manage mental health.
Other guests share their stories and subject matter expertise in overcoming adversity. He leads discussions on topics such as trauma, anxiety and resilience as well as conversing with best-selling authors such as Michael O’Brien, John C Parkin & Nick Britton and chats with life and relationship coaches, thought leaders and even a US army Drill Sergeant and Master coach. A recent interview includes author Josh Mantz who shares his unique experience of a devastating fatal sniper attack in Baghdad which left him flat-lining for 15minutes. Josh was then brought back to the living by US military medics. Josh now works in the field of trauma helping others work through the complexities of trauma making a difference to many lives.
Averill notes, “The level of support from all over the world has been phenomenal and I’ve been fortunate to connect with some extraordinary people doing great things in the Men’s Health arena.” -- Having achieved such positive feedback and recognition early on, the ManBits podcast is well on its way to becoming a popular resource for men and women globally.
One fan comments: “Thank you for donating your time and energy to this cause… …I appreciate how you are a catalyst for change and how you incorporate the community members’ voices into your podcast.”
Paul explains, “Often, as guys, we’re guilty of burying or masking the things that get us down, to protect ourselves from appearing overly vulnerable or weak. The truth is that there’s strength in vulnerability. Unfortunately there’s a lot of men out there who are in financial strife, or suffering from depression, anxiety, or isolation--who don’t know how to reach out and connect with their loved ones or community for help.” This is the void The ManBits podcast aims to fill.
Covering a catalogue of subjects ranging from work-life balance, physcial and financial health to improving emotional intelligence and mind health, the podcast serves as a how-to for men (and women) that are looking to deal with different issues and make positive change in their lives.
“The ManBits Podcast isn’t just Bits for guys. It’s Bits for everyone,” says Averill. “During my experience in remedial therapy and leadership I’ve witnessed that, at times, life throws a curveball and it can feel like there’s no way out. My goal with this podcast is to reduce suicide by sharing knowledge and showing listeners that there is another way.”
