Robert Sell, a retired millwright who has written two history books and fourteen novels, has completed his new book “The Bronze Star: Culvert Dweller”: an enchanting story on how Gilbert encounters Doris on a wheat farm, a place he works at after his wife have deserted him and his home and money have been repossessed.

Author Sell shows Gilbert’s contemplation on Doris’s feelings for him and her intentions: “Gilbert sipped his coffee while deep in thought. He was pondering the situation with Doris, trying to make sense of why she would welcome the attention of a nobody from Inchelium. What was it about him that no other young man of the area had to offer?

He had no wealth. He was homeless when he first came here. But of course, she knew all that.

So, it wasn’t money that turned her head. There was plenty of fine looking young men in the area, some who drove fancy cars. So, one didn’t have to be rich, handsome or drive a fancy car to turn her head. Good thing because he had none of these attributes.

After deliberating for quite some time the only plus he could find on his side of the slate was that he didn’t smoke or drink. But there must be plenty of eligible young men who didn’t smoke or drink.”

Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Robert Sell’s memorable story is one of finding love and making it last by working hard for it; the love story of Gilbert and Doris shows that love can endure despite each other’s different past lives.

Readers who wish to experience this moving work can purchase “The Bronze Star: Culvert Dweller” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play, Kobo or Barnes and Noble.
