SightMD Expanding Their Smithtown Practice Operations With Opening Of New Pediatric & Cosmetic Surgery Office Suite
Hauppauge, New York (PRWEB) January 03, 2018 -- With a focus on enhancing the patient/doctor experience and increasing patient access to physicians across their growing ophthalmic provider group, SightMD today announced the opening of their second office at the main Smithtown practice location, according to eye surgeon, Jeffrey Martin, MD, FACS, Chief Executive Officer of SightMD.
The new SightMD office will be located at 260 Middle Country Road, Suite 109 in Smithtown, where Dr. Martin has been practicing for over two decades. “We have an increased demand for both our oculofacial cosmetic procedures and our pediatric ophthalmology services at SightMD,” said Martin. “To better serve our patients and give them more quality time with our physicians, we expanded our physical footprint in Smithtown and opened a dedicated office suite for our pediatric and cosmetic patients.”
Ophthalmic plastic surgeon, Samuel Baharestani, MD, FACS, will begin seeing patients this week in the new Smithtown office, where he will be joined by glaucoma specialist, Andrew Bainnson, MD, pediatric ophthalmologist, Michelle Liebert, MD and staff optometrist, Dr. Albert Marcantonio.
“I’m excited to expand the cosmetic surgery division of SightMD by offering modern oculoplastic surgery services to our patients on Long Island at our newly dedicated suite,” said Dr. Baharestani. “My partners and I are passionate about giving patients the personal time they need to make a more informed decision about their cosmetic choices. By opening up this new space – and our schedules – we will help enhance the doctor/patient experience at SightMD.”
Dr. Baharestani has over 100 publications of original research, case presentations, book chapters, abstract submissions, invited lectures, and online medical contributions. He has been listed as a ‘Top Doctor’ in The NY Times and RealSelf, in addition to being inducted into the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, and the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Liebert is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in pediatric eye care, including strabismus surgery, amblyopia treatment, retinopathy of prematurity and pediatrics plastic surgery. “Our new office expansion in Smithtown will be extremely beneficial for parents with children who require pediatric ophthalmic services,” said Dr. Liebert. “Diagnosing and treating the needs of infants and very young children can be a lengthy process,” said Dr. Liebert. “I look forward to having the additional dedicated space and time in my schedule to see to their needs.”
Glaucoma specialist and general ophthalmologist, Andrew Bainnson, MD believes that the most rewarding part of his job is making a difference in the lives of his patients. “My philosophy of patient care has always centered on building long-term relationships with my patients,” he said. “Opening this new office in Smithtown will allow my colleagues and I to spend more quality with our patients in developing their care regimens.” In addition to glaucoma, Dr. Bainnson also treats most common ophthalmic disorders including but not limited to diabetes, macular degeneration, vascular disorders, cataracts, infections as well as pediatrics.
Dr. Marcantonio, who specializes in post-operative patient care, said the Smithtown office will be open Monday – Sunday, seven days a week. “On Monday through Thursday, we offer expanded office hours from 7 AM – 7 PM.,” he said. “For added convenience, we encourage patients to take advantage of our Saturday and Sunday hours,” he said. SightMD in Smithtown is open from 8 AM -2 PM on Saturdays and from 8 AM – 3 PM on Sundays.
