Premier Physician Network Expands Portal Access, Giving South Jersey Patients Easy Access to Medical Records
VOORHEES, N.J. (PRWEB) January 15, 2018 -- Premier Physician Network has expanded portal access to give patients an easy way to view all their medical records — and also to allow physicians and nurse practitioners to better coordinate patient care.
Premier Physician Network was created to support doctors in South Jersey who want to continue practicing in their local communities while also obtaining the benefits of a larger practice.
The network is also developing an integrated telephone system to better support the nine physicians and four nurse practitioners at seven locations throughout southern New Jersey. The expertise of the providers ranges from acute and chronic illness to gerontology.
“Our patients still want to see their local doctor. And our doctors want to maintain their independence,” said Edward Gulko, MBA, FACMPE, FACHE, LNHA, and Interim CEO of Premier Physician Network. “But as medicine becomes increasingly complex, solo and small group physicians find value in creating a network.”
The benefits of a larger network include shared technology, including electronic health records that allow physicians to better coordinate care and promote wellness.
“The field of medicine today has grown increasingly complex and electronically based. Through this network, I can continue to focus on my patients and their health and well being, knowing that I have the support of the network and my colleagues at Premier Physician Network,” said Dr. Lisa Dructor, a physician with Premier Physician Network.
The providers are in towns such as Cherry Hill, Sicklerville, Delran, Voorhees, Collingswood, and Haddonfield, allowing the physicians and nurse practitioners to provide comprehensive, compassionate, evidence-based care to families across South Jersey.
The focus of Premier Physician Network fits in with the value-based care model, where doctors are reimbursed for positive health outcomes rather than for each test performed or service rendered. Patient care is more carefully coordinated. In the patient-centered model, the local practice takes responsibility for the patient’s overall health, staying accessible to the patient and working with the patient to create and oversee a care plan.
The patient-centered model offers better outcomes in disease management, patient engagement, and continuity of care, according to the National Committee for Quality Assurance. The concepts of care demonstrate the forward-looking nature of Premier Physician Network’s model. The network provides its member physicians with technical and back-office support.
