The Sea Pines Resort Launches Wellness and Weight Loss Retreats in 2018
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (PRWEB) December 20, 2017 -- The award-winning Sea Pines Resort is excited to announce the launch of a new wellness brand. The Sea Pines Resort Wellness and Weight Loss Retreats were developed by experts in the wellness field and offer travelers a new reason to visit South Carolina’s top vacation destination beginning in February 2018.
“Offering people an opportunity to get healthier and recalibrate in the New Year is a natural extension of what The Sea Pines Resort presently offers and is a response to the rapidly growing demand for wellness tourism,” says Sea Pines Resort President Steve Birdwell.
According to the 2017 Global Wellness Economy Monitor, the global wellness sector registered double digit growth between 2013 and 2015, while the global GDP shrank by 3.6 percent during the same period. The research found that wellness tourism expenditures grew by 6.8 percent annually compared to overall tourism which increased by only 3.4 percent. At the same time, wellness tourism revenues grew 14 percent – more than twice as fast as overall tourism expenditures.
With destination wellness vacations an expanding trend, The Sea Pines Resort seeks to capitalize on the opportunity to increase revenues while offering island visitors a healthier vacation option.
“Everyone needs an opportunity to recalibrate and prioritize their health,” says Lisette Cifaldi, MSW, of Eating Sanity LLC, a consultant working with The Sea Pines Resort. “Sea Pines is the perfect place to do that and 2018 is the perfect time to start.”
With its majestic South Carolina Lowcountry setting, miles of beaches, winding bike paths and championship golf courses, The Sea Pines Resort has always made leaving worries behind easy. Now it has taken it a step further and crafted distinguished seven- and 14-day wellness and weight loss retreats that are an artful integration of healthy dining, functional-scaled fitness, meditation training, gentle yoga, mindful walks, insight-oriented lectures and cooking demonstrations – all designed to leave guests with a nourished soul, a new perspective and a weight loss victory.
“As a community, we are very excited about this development because it speaks to one of Sea Pines’ core values,” says Sea Pines Resort Director of Recreation and Marine Operations Rob Bender.
The foundational philosophy of The Sea Pines Wellness and Weight Loss Retreats is Simplifying the Art of Wellness. Believing that the path to wellness and weight loss has become confusing, Sea Pines focuses on an intuitive sense of wellness with a manageable approach to weight loss.
Going back to basics, The Sea Pines Wellness and Weight Loss Retreats return to simple, healthy comfort foods, fun exercise that takes advantage of the convenience and beauty of the outdoors, stress-management tools, such as mediation and yoga on the beach, and hands-on cooking classes with the resort’s award-winning chefs.
The Sea Pines Wellness and Weight Loss Retreats set themselves apart from other wellness programs by offering both luxury and exclusivity. Retreats are limited to 15 attendees per week, providing each registrant unparalleled service and unmatched individual attention in a resort recently honored with the 2018 Condé Nast Johansens Award for Excellence. During the retreats, participants stay in The Inn & Club at Harbour Town, named Hilton Head Island’s No. 1 luxury hotel.
This year, 24/7 Wall St. named Hilton Head Island the healthiest city in South Carolina and The Sea Pines Resort has committed to fortifying that title with its new wellness offerings. To learn more, visit https://www.seapines.com/wellness-retreats/ or call 843-842-1918.
