RBMA Launches Young Professionals Group
FAIRFAX, Va. (PRWEB) December 22, 2017 -- To better serve the needs of Radiology Business Management Association members in the early stages of their careers, the RBMA is excited to announce the creation of its first Young Professionals Group. The group will help younger RBMA members connect with radiology industry peers, discover career opportunities and grow professionally.
“I was excited to step up and help lead this effort,” said Kim Kelley, FRBMA, chair of the Young Professionals Task Force. “When I was starting my career in radiology, so many things were shared with me because of the people I met at RBMA networking events and conferences. I want to make sure other young professionals have the same types of opportunities.”
The Young Professionals Group will hold its first event at the 2018 PaRADigm conference in San Diego. A networking reception from 6:15 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, at the San Diego Bayfront hotel will lead into a walking pub crawl in the nearby Gaslamp Quarter with three coordinated stops.
“In addition to excellent radiology business-specific educational offerings, networking opportunities and mentoring have always been at the core of the RBMA’s mission,” Kelley said. “Through the Young Professionals Group, we are building on these strengths and creating fun ways to make the Association especially welcoming to our next generation of members.”
In addition to events at conferences, future plans for the Young Professionals Group include leveraging the RBMA’s private online forums to help younger RBMA members find resources and connect with others at a similar early stage in the their radiology careers.
“We really want to give them a chance to dive in and get the most benefit from their membership in the RBMA,” Kelley says. “This definitely includes a chance to form the type of long-lasting professional friendships that really help in career growth and development.”
Information about the PaRADigm conference and links to the online registration system are available on the RBMA.org/paradigm website. Special discounts apply for RBMA members, and a competitive scholarship is available to first-time and aspiring practice managers to allow them a chance to attend.
