Don Chism and Nancy Chism’s new book “Bag End” is the true story of a husband and wife team in an around-the-world sailing adventure.
(PRWEB) December 27, 2017 -- Don Chism and Nancy Chism, a retired grocery clerk and a language arts teacher respectively, recently completed a twenty-two-year sailing expedition around the world. The couple have written “Bag End”: an awe-inspiring narrative of a goal to conquer the seas and discover the world on a well-loved vessel, Bag End. Authors Chism relay a humorous side of the saying that one must be careful of wishful thinking, because it might just happen. Nancy touches on this toward the end of the book in thinking back on the experience: “Sailing North to Mexico seemed like it would be the hardest part of our whole twenty-two-year wish-come-true voyage around the world. For me, at least, that is much of what sailing has instilled: be careful what you wish for because you might get it. I’ve also discovered that sailing a small boat from San Francisco Bay across oceans to faraway places can metamorphose from what first seemed an incredulously impossible undertaking into pretty wonderful realities and life memories with a lot of funny things happening along the way, even as soon as Don and I would find ourselves sailing forward into the next “impossible” undertaking.”
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Nancy Chism and Don Chism’s impassioned novel also mirrors the authors’ love and fervor for the things they do. What started as a dream has finally become a reality; with this, “Bag End” hopes to impart the value of never giving up on one’s dreams but slowly fulfilling them despite facing obstacles along the way.
Readers who wish to experience this captivating work can purchase“Bag End” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play, Kobo, or Barnes and Noble.
