As wireless technologies advance to 802.11ax and 5G, octoScope will rely on Leigh’s technical depth and innovative thinking to help evolve our octoBox architecture.

octoScope®, the leader in accurate, repeatable and automated wireless personal testbeds, today announced that Leigh Chinitz has joined the company’s management team as Chief Technology Officer. In this role, Chinitz will work closely with the development teams to drive innovation and explore new approaches for meeting the demands of a growing customer base and partner community.

Since the introduction of the octoBox® wireless personal testbed in 2013, octoScope has been growing at an average rate of 70% per year. octoScope enables every wireless engineer to have a completely isolated and automated personal testbed in her office.

Chinitz comes to octoScope from Casa Systems where he was responsible for wireless strategy in the office of the CTO. Prior to that, he was a solutions architect at Cisco Systems, responsible for the design and implementation of Wi-Fi, and other small cell systems for service providers.

Chinitz holds 20 US patents and has spent more than twenty years in the high technology industry. He has participated in numerous industry groups and worked to support regulatory activities with both US and foreign government agencies. In his past roles, covering both technology and business development, he has managed groups of people across boundaries of businesses, companies, countries and cultures. Chinitz holds a B.S. degree in Physics from Yale University, a PhD in Experimental Nuclear Physics from the University of Virginia, and an MBA from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.

“Leigh brings a rare and relevant combination of skills to help octoScope deliver fully featured yet compact and cost-effective personal testbeds for Wi-Fi, LTE, 5G, Bluetooth, ZigBee and other wireless technologies. Leigh’s background includes deep knowledge of the wireless standards, MIMO (multiple input multiple output) techniques, RF propagation and wireless network simulation,” said Fanny Mlinarsky, President of octoScope. “As wireless technologies advance to 802.11ax and 5G, octoScope will rely on Leigh’s technical depth and innovative thinking to help evolve our octoBox architecture to meet the fast advancing test needs and to enhance the existing capabilities, including throughput, mesh, band steering and roaming.”

"I am excited to be joining a company poised to make a big difference in the repeatability, accessibility and economics of wireless test,” stated Leigh Chinitz. “This technical team has deep roots in the development of wireless test equipment, and hands-on experience in the challenges of wireless testing. I look forward to helping to enable future growth and innovation for our customers and trusted partners.”
