IBTS Founders Join Board of Directors
ASHBURN, Va. (PRWEB) December 27, 2017 -- The Institute for Building Technology and Safety (IBTS), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is pleased to announce that its co-founders have recently been appointed to the Board of Directors. This is part of the organization’s continued efforts in succession planning.
IBTS’s work is guided by a Board of Directors that have been appointed by five associations, including the Council of State Governments (CSG), International City/County Managers Association (ICMA), National Association of Counties (NACo), National Governors Association Center for Best Practices (NGA Center), and National League of Cities (NLC). As part of the Board’s responsibilities, they meet with the IBTS executives and senior staff four times each year. At this month’s meeting, IBTS co-founders, Ashok Goswami and Shyam Choudhary, were appointed to the Board.
As Board members, Mr. Goswami and Mr. Choudhary will review the organization’s progress and give direction for the types of services and opportunities IBTS should take moving forward. This will be complimentary to their respective roles as Chief Executive Officer and President, where they currently provide oversight to IBTS’s work. This shift is part of the organization’s continued succession planning efforts, which includes the addition of Chief Operating Officer, Dion Rudnicki, and Chief Marketing and Development Officer, Chris Fennell, earlier this year.
“The decision to appoint Mr. Goswami and Mr. Choudhary to the Board is part of a natural transition as the organization’s founders and we believe that it will help further enhance the relationship between IBTS and its Board of Directors,” said Craig Thurmond, IBTS Board of Directors Chairman and Mayor of Broken Arrow, OK.
“When we first founded IBTS in 1974, we could not have imagined that it would grow to the level that it is at today,” said Ashok Goswami, CEO at IBTS. “IBTS has established itself as a leader in services ranging from disaster recovery work to solar quality assurance. Shyam and I look forward to our new roles on the Board of Directors and to continue guiding and shaping IBTS in the years to come.”
