Trident University Information Technology Department Chair Publishes Book Chapter
CYPRESS, Calif. (PRWEB) December 22, 2017 -- Trident University International’s (Trident) Dr. Wendy Wang, along with co-author Dr. Yun Wu of Salisbury University, have published “A Tale of Two Systems, ERP in China – Failure and Success,” a chapter in the book Emerging Investigation in Artificial Life Research and Development.
The chapter discusses the increased need for more studies on issues about information systems localization in China and best ways to solve these issues. Examining a Chinese apparel company, the authors analyzed the factors that caused the initial failure of an enterprise resource planning project and how the company learned from the experience to eventually succeed with this project.
Dr. Wang is Department Chair in - Information Technology Management and Computer Science in Trident’s Glenn R. Jones College of Business. Her areas of expertise include management information systems, information technology, and social sciences.
“With China becoming an economic powerhouse, there has been increasing need for more studies on issues about information systems localization in China and best ways to solve these issues,” stated Dr. Wang. “Understanding the root causes of these issues will help vendors who are interested in better serving the Chinese market.”
Earlier this year Dr. Wang oversaw the development and launch of Trident’s new SAS Joint Certificate in Business Analytics, a 15 credit hour certificate program designed for business professionals who are seeking to expand their understanding of big data, the management of databases, and data mining.
Dr. Wang is an experienced academic who has published research in Virtual Work and Human Interaction Research and the Journal of the American Society for Information Science and Technology. In August she presented the paper, “Role of IT Identity in Moderating the Relationship Between Technostress, Job Engagement, and Productivity,” at the Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS) in Boston.
Dr. Wang earned a Ph.D. in Information Systems Management and a Master in Social Sciences from the University of Mississippi, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from Northwest University in Xi’an, China.
