Avid Rock Concert Poster Collector Announces His Search For 1965 - 1971 Classic Psychedelic Rock Concert Posters For The Doors
SAN FRANCISCO (PRWEB) December 26, 2017 -- Avid rock concert poster collector, Andrew Hawley from Vintage Rock Posters, announces his search for 1965 - 1971 classic psychedelic rock concert posters for The Doors. Over the next six years, the Doors became one of the most influential bands in America. According to Hawley, “It all started when Jim Morrison and Ray Manzarek met at UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television in 1965. Morrison mentioned to Manzarek that he was writing songs. Manzarek had a band asked Morrison to join them. It was Morrison who suggested they changed the band name to the Doors. Over the next six years, the Doors sold over 4 million albums and had many hit singles. The band had a unique dark, blues-influenced, carnival, psychedelic sound. Morrison’s lyrics were poetic and reflected the angst of the late 1960s. A Doors concert was always unpredictable because of Morrison’s erratic stage persona and antics.”
Hawley adds, “The Doors’ music attracted top graphic artists, such as Dail Beeghly and Gunther Kieser, to produce concert posters for the band. The concert posters had striking layouts using psychedelic band images, lettering and background colors. Morrison was photogenic and artists stylizes his image with great aesthetic effect. The posters used various materials including thick cardboard, heavy paper and thin fly paper.” For examples of The Doors psychedelic rock concert posters, please go to http://www.vintageconcertposterbuyer.com/psychedelic/the_doors.html.
