The recipients of the 2017 M&A Advisor Awards were announced at the 16th Annual Gala held at the Metropolitan Club in New York. There were over 280 nominees, representing over 650 companies. Deal of the Year Awards were given in five different size categories, and each winning deal team was recognized for their contributions to due diligence, financing, and various components of deal structure.

“It’s no secret there are more buyers than sellers in today’s merger and acquisition market, so finding the right company at a fair price can be challenging,” said John Bisack, Co-Founder, President and Managing Director of Performance Improvement Partners, known in the PE industry more simply as PIP. “The use of technology to enhance portfolio company EBITDA is now a key strategic initiative.”

According to Bisack, there is a major trend at work in the area of technology solutions. PE investors have a growing interest in identifying new ways to enhance and improve the use of current technology systems when appropriate. Whether finding pragmatic improvements for existing technology or implementing new technology, a cost effective, value-based solution is the key to growing a business.
