New Study Shows Buying Furniture Online Is The Way To Go
New York, New York (PRWEB) February 16, 2017 -- 1StopBedrooms, a major online furniture retailer in the US, recently carried out a study which looked at the advantages and perceived inconveniences surrounding online furniture shopping. This resulted in some interesting findings. A lot of these findings were focused on customer trust related to buying furniture, as well as the expectations that the customers had about the actual process of buying large items like furniture online.
300 people were involved in the poll produced by 1StopBedrooms. The people selected for the poll were past 1StopBedrooms customers. The sample was completely random. Purchases varied in size. With some purchasing furniture like dressers, while others were doing online shopping for whole bedroom and living room sets.
There were three questions in the poll:
What was your expectation going into this purchase, knowing that you’ll be ordering furniture on 1StopBedrooms website and not a brick and mortar store?
Were significant dollar savings attributed to purchasing your furniture on the internet?
Was the furniture delivery, after ordering online, any different than ordering at a local store?
1StopBedrooms found that 50% of people who carried out online shopping for furniture thought they'd have to deal with issues they imagined would arise as a result of purchasing online. This means that they sincerely felt that there may be issues arising directly correlated with their decisions to purchase on the internet, but they also felt that the benefits outweigh that of buying from a local shop.
Over 50% of the people surveyed by 1StopBedrooms said that they expected the transaction and overall process to be as seamless as possible. They noted that they had been shopping online for years and had not ran into any issues. However, even among these, a small number noted that they would not be surprised if they did run into issues related to their decision to purchase goods online. Most cited common concerns by web shoppers.
The big turning point’of the poll indicated that over 78% had made significant savings due to their decision to purchase goods online. Most people made savings of between 20% and 50% when they purchased their furniture from 1StopBedrooms VS a local furniture shop. This was in comparison to local retail outlets selling the exact same items. Most people stated that the cost of buying furniture online was a motivating factor in their decision to shop around.
While it has always been true that electronics and other items are cheaper online, very few people think about how much more money you can save when it comes to buying furniture online. This is, perhaps, in part due to the fact that many people do not think of the larger items as being something that you can purchase on the net. However, the last question of the survey found that the logistics of receiving their large freight items was far easier when they made their purchase online. They found that delivery was more convenient. This is perhaps, in part, due to the fact that online operations such as 1StopBedrooms were more focused on ensuring that the journey of the product to the customer was smoother. They did not have to focus on retail operations, just this.
