Stevia extraction process ‘faster and more cost efficient than anything on the market today.’

Stevia Pure Leaf

We believe our technology has the potential to disrupt the global sweeteners market, and our team of scientists has the research, data and product samples to prove it.

California-based B’Box Group is seeking a buyer to commercialize its game-changing stevia extraction technology.

A multi-disciplinary team of scientists with backgrounds in biotechnology, organic chemistry, genetics, botany, molecular biology and health sciences, along with engineers specializing in the scale-up of bio-processes for large scale manufacturing, B’Box Group has developed a proprietary technique that cost-efficiently produces clean-tasting, high-purity stevia leaf extracts with no bitter aftertaste.

The company – which is working on a range of projects from natural food preservatives to plant-based biofuels – is looking to sell the technology, not to license it, says founder and CEO Michel Rochel: "We want to sell it outright; we don't want to be an ingredients supplier."

Breakthrough technology
He added: "Manufacturers are desperate to cut sugar, and we’ve seen people turn 180 degrees once they have tried our product. Our novel approach yields a pure stevia extract with a unique benefit no other stevia product can deliver: no bitter aftertaste. Stevia Pure Leaf does not require any chemicals, fillers or masking agents and offers a true replacement for processed sugars, without asking consumers to compromise.

“We believe our technology has the potential to disrupt the global sweeteners market, and our team of scientists has the research, data and product samples to prove it. Our process holds the potential to create a new generation of blockbuster consumer products, and we are ready to share the news.”

Potential buyers could include ingredients suppliers, distributors or consumer packaged goods (CPG) manufacturers, who have tried samples of the stevia extracts and have been blown away by the taste, says Rochel.

“Food and beverage manufacturers can use the stevia in their own products, but they could also supply other companies. While a big soda company may not want to sell it to its competitors in soda, it might well want to sell it to food companies. Manufacturing is something they could subcontract out to a third party who would produce the extracts using our proprietary process, and we can help them set this up. The process is faster and more cost efficient than anything on the market today.”

Natural extraction process
He added: “We use water to extract the sweet glycosides from the stevia plant. Unlike some other stevia companies, B'BOX Group does not use methanol, enzymes and formaldehyde or other chemical modification to produce our stevia pure leaf.”
